Friday, September 1, 2023, the Division of Japanese Language Education of the Soedirman Japanese Literature Student Association (Hijasu) held a kaiwakai (Speaking Club) attended by native speakers Haruki and Rio. Haruki is an exchange student from Teikyou University who is currently studying at the Fakultas Ekonomi Unsoed. Meanwhile, Rio is a volunteer from Dejavato.
This kaiwakai activity was held to improve the Japanese language proficiency of students in the Sastra Jepang undergraduate programme. During this activity, students introduced themselves and discussed what made Haruki and Rio interested in coming to Indonesia. This activity not only encouraged Sastra Jepang undergraduate students to speak Japanese directly with native speakers but also provided new understanding regarding Indonesian and Japanese culture.
