Banyumas, November 14, 2024 – SMK Muhammadiyah Somagede held training activities and learning reinforcement as preparation for student internships in Japan. The event was attended by various parties, including SMK Muhammadiyah Principal Akhmad Rosidi, S.E., teaching staff from the Sastra Jepang Programme at Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed), and representatives from the Banyumas Office of Manpower and Transmigration.
This activity is one of the important steps taken by SMK Muhammadiyah Somagede as a Center of Excellence (PK) school focused on the Business Management programme, with a concentration in digital business. The funding allocation received by the school covers physical infrastructure development, learning reinforcement, and equipment procurement.
The training programme includes a Japanese language learning course conducted over three months in cooperation with LPK Yamaguchi. Students also took a Japanese language proficiency test as part of their evaluation, with the hope that they will later be able to participate in internships in Japan. In this training session, the Sastra Jepang Unsoed team—Idah Hamidah, M.Hum., Diana Puspitasari, M.A., Ita Fitriana, M.A., and Eko Kurniawan, M.Pd.—provided materials on language reinforcement, business ethics, and motivation to the students.
A total of 10 third-year students from various programmes—including Digital Business, Accounting, Computer Engineering, and Motorcycle Engineering—participated in this training. They received guidance on business Japanese language, etiquette, motivation, and character development, which are expected to help them prepare for employment in Japan.
On the same occasion, the school also expressed hope that this collaboration could include easier admission to Sastra Jepang Unsoed for high-achieving students, particularly those with Japanese language certificates. Additionally, the Indonesian Smart Card (Kartu Indonesia Pintar/KIP) scholarship programme is also hoped to be made available to eligible students.
The Banyumas Office of Manpower and Transmigration expressed its willingness to establish further cooperation with the Fakultas Ilmu Budaya (FIB) Unsoed, particularly for training related to language and other skills.
