Two students from Fakultas Ilmu Budaya have achieved commendable success at an international competition. This time, Mohamad Hayatulloh from the Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris study programme and Rinda Dewi Rahmawati from the D-3 Bahasa Inggris study programme successfully obtained gold medals at the Indonesia International Applied Science Project Olympiad (I2ASPO). This activity, conducted both online and offline, is a collaboration between the Indonesian Youth Scientist Association (IYSA) and the Faculty of Science and Data Analytics (FSAD) of Institut Teknologi Sepuluh November.
In this competition, Mohamad Hayatulloh and his team participated in the Functional Food category with a project titled KyumPaf: Cumin Puffs Breast Milk Instan Booster Low Calorie Alternative Healthy Snacks to Reduce Prevalence of CED in Pregnant and Breastfeeding Women. Meanwhile, Rinda Dewi Rahmawati and her team participated in the IoT and Its Application category with a project titled Floating e-TPAS Refuse Derived Fuel Raw Material Solution for Waste Handling Efforts in Kampung Laut, Cilacap.
Rinda Dewi Rahmawati stated that her team conducted extensive preparation before participating in the competition, from determining the idea, preparing the proposal, to the presentation stage. They also prepared a prototype for their presentation.
The competition was followed by 321 teams from 14 countries: Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam, Puerto Rico, Thailand, Turkey, United Arab Emirates, Kazakhstan, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Iran, Malaysia, and Hongkong. Project submissions were conducted on December 10, 2023, while presentations were held on December 19, and the awarding ceremony was conducted online through Zoom Meeting and YouTube Live IYSA Official on December 21, 2023 at 19:00.
Rinda added that her team felt very proud of this achievement. “I gained valuable experience and connections from other faculties. This was my first time participating in a competition and it motivates me to learn even more,” said Rinda.
