Purwokerto, October 15, 2024 – Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (FIB Unsoed) through the Laboratorium Kajian Pengembangan Pembelajaran (LKPP) once again held a workshop titled “Technical Guidance on Outcome Based Education (OBE) Curriculum Development Toward International Accreditation.” The event held in Aula Bambang Lelono was attended by all lecturers of FIB Unsoed, with the main speaker Dr. Laili Etika Rahmawati, S.Pd., M.Pd., from Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta.
The workshop opened at 08:30 WIB with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem Indonesia Raya, followed by remarks from the Dean of FIB Unsoed, who emphasized the importance of improving educational quality toward international accreditation. Subsequently, remarks were delivered by the Head of the Laboratorium Kajian Pengembangan Pembelajaran (LKPP), who reiterated the laboratory’s role in supporting the development of OBE-based curriculum within FIB.
Dr. Laili Etika Rahmawati, who also serves as Head of the Curriculum Development and Learning Innovation Division at Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, guided participants in understanding the concepts and implementation of OBE. She explained that OBE emphasizes the outcomes or learning achievements that must be attained by students upon completing their study programme.
This technical guidance lasted three days, with the first day’s agenda focused on curriculum presentations by each study programme at FIB Unsoed. The programmes presented their current curricula, followed by interactive discussion sessions between the speaker and participants. On the second and third days, mentoring was conducted online to provide further input on curriculum development and the steps that must be taken toward international accreditation.
This event is expected to serve as an initial step for all study programmes at FIB Unsoed to be better prepared to face the international accreditation process and to realize a curriculum based on learning outcomes that comply with global standards.
