Purwokerto, October 12, 2024 – Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (FIB Unsoed) once again organized the National Seminar on Faculty-Student Collaboration #4 with the theme “Building a Quality Literacy Culture through the Study of Current Issues”. The event was held by the Publication Laboratory FIB Unsoed and took place in two main sessions, with the aim of strengthening literacy culture among academics and students.
The seminar featured three keynote speakers from various prestigious institutions, namely:
Dr. M. Zainudin, M.Pd. (Badan Riset dan Inovasi Nasional)
Dr. R. Pujo Handoyo, M.Hum. (Universitas Jenderal Soedirman)
Dr. Ana Mae Monteza (UM Digos College, Philippines)
The event was opened with remarks from the Vice Rector for Academic Affairs, Dr. Ir. Noor Farid, M.Si., who emphasized the importance of literacy in enhancing the nation’s competitiveness in the era of globalization. Additionally, the Dean of FIB Unsoed, Dr. Ely Triasih Rahayu, M.Hum., was also present and expressed appreciation to all committee members and participants for the successful organization of this event. The Vice Dean for Academic Affairs of FIB Unsoed, Dr. Chusni Hadiati, M.Hum., also conveyed his hope that this event would strengthen collaboration between faculty and students in producing quality scholarly works.
The first session consisted of a plenary featuring the three keynote speakers mentioned above, held in a hybrid format at the Aula Gedung Bambang Lelono, FIB Unsoed. Participants attending both in-person and online had the opportunity to listen to presentations on current literacy issues, research innovation, as well as challenges and opportunities in the future of the academic world.
Following the plenary session, the event continued with parallel sessions, where participants presented their research findings in various designated rooms. This session aimed to provide a forum for students and faculty to discuss, exchange ideas, and broaden their understanding regarding literacy and scholarly research.
The seminar was also attended by the Head of Publication Laboratory FIB Unsoed, Ririn Kurnia Trisnawati, S.S., M.Hum., who hopes that this event can serve as a momentum to encourage research productivity among faculty and students, and to build an increasingly strong and quality literacy culture.
With the high enthusiasm of participants, the National Seminar on Faculty-Student Collaboration #4 is expected to make a significant contribution to the development of academic literacy in Indonesia, particularly within the environment of Universitas Jenderal Soedirman.
