Purwokerto, October 1, 2025 – Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (FIB Unsoed) held the Workshop Rencana Pendirian Program Studi S1 Bahasa Mandarin dan Kebudayaan Tiongkok on Wednesday, October 1, 2025. This activity took place in a hybrid format at the Aula Bambang Lelono FIB Unsoed and via Zoom Meeting.
The workshop was attended by university leadership, lecturers, stakeholders, alumni, and graduates’ employers from the Diploma 3 Mandarin Language Study Programme. The main objective of this activity was to gather input and strengthen the drafting of the proposal for the establishment of the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Mandarin Language and Chinese Culture as part of the academic development of FIB Unsoed. The event commenced at 07:30 Western Indonesia Time (WIB) with participant registration, followed by the opening ceremony, singing of the national anthem Indonesia Raya, and a report by the Head of the Committee, Rini Laoshi. The Dean of FIB Unsoed, Prof. Dr. Ely Triasih Rahayu, S.S., M.Hum., delivered a welcoming speech and officially opened the workshop.
The main session featured a presentation by resource person Dr. C. Dewi Hartati, S.S., M.Si., who provided input regarding the substance of the study programme establishment proposal. An interactive discussion also took place, involving lecturers, stakeholders, and alumni to provide feedback on the plan to establish this new study programme.
Through this forum, FIB Unsoed hopes that the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Mandarin Language and Chinese Culture can be realized soon, thereby expanding opportunities for students to study Chinese language and culture more comprehensively while meeting the demands of the workforce in the fields of language and culture.
The workshop concluded with the delivery of conclusions, expectations, and a group photo session with all participants at 16:00 WIB.
