The Website Management Team of Fakultas Ilmu Budaya, Universitas Jenderal Soedirman held a workshop on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 with the theme “Enhancing Website Content Appeal Through Photography.” The workshop, attended by participants from various backgrounds, provided important insights into the role of photography in enhancing the appeal of website content and social media.
The workshop, led by Monika Herliana, B.Ed, M.Li., began with the singing of Indonesia Raya, and an activity report by the committee chair, Usep Muttaqin, S.Hum., M.A. The committee chair explained the importance of understanding photography techniques in enhancing the appeal of website and social media content, which was the main focus of this workshop. Additionally, Dr. Chusni Hadiati, S.S., M.Hum., Vice Dean of Academic Affairs at FIB Unsoed, stated in her remarks that the website is a crucial tool for presenting FIB’s achievements and activities to the community. With attractive content, public interest will increase.
The main speaker, Willi Abi Setyo, provided valuable insights. He explained the fundamentals of photography techniques, including Triangle Exposure (Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO), composition principles, various types of shooting techniques, different types of cameras, various types of lenses, and tips for documentary photography. The workshop also discussed common photography problems and how to overcome them, as well as the importance of using flash in photography.
The workshop also included a photography practice session that allowed participants to directly try out the techniques they had learned. In this session, participants were divided into groups and given cameras to take photographs around the workshop location manually. The photos were then reviewed together to clarify understanding of photography techniques.
The workshop concluded with the presentation of certificates to the speakers as recognition of their contributions. It is hoped that this workshop will help enhance the appeal of FIB’s website and social media content, as well as improve participants’ photography skills. It is hoped that similar activities can continue to be conducted to increase knowledge and skills in the field of photography.
