Purwokerto – FJU is an annual event organized by the Sastra Jepang study programme, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Unsoed. FJU was halted during the pandemic, and in 2022 it was held again with a series of festival activities that had been prepared since April, culminating in October, on the 16th of October 2022. With preparations that took quite a long time, the peak of FJU ran smoothly according to the rundown made by the committee.
This FJU set the entrance ticket price at Rp 15,000 for the pre-sale price and Rp 20,000 for the on the spot price, with approximately 3,500 tickets sold, and registrations overflowing.
The series of festival events also featured traditional Banyumas culture such as Kenthongan and traditional dance. Entering the main event, it was opened with remarks from the Chair of FJU, the Chair of the Sastra Jepang Unsoed Student Association, the Head of the Sastra Jepang study programme, and the Vice Dean for Affairs 3.
FJU featured many competitions such as the Cosplay Competition, costreet, band, karaoke, and original character competitions, with quite a large number of enthusiastic participants. The festival also had many food stands, merchandise stands, community stands, maid café, yukata rental, and a self photobooth stand.
The excitement of FJU grew even more lively with additional activities such as eating competitions, quizzes with prizes, and gamezone. The peak of the event at night was enlivened by guest stars Meutia Amanda and the band group Noyushimi. Special performances included SRT 48, Mochiramen, and DJ Scififall.
This FJU exceeded the committee’s expectations beyond imagination; the committee would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to all visitors, and offer their sincerest apologies for the many shortcomings from the committee.
