Purwokerto, 8 September 2023, students from the Sastra Jepang programme, FIB Unsoed participated in an interview for the Independent MBKM programme, Internship to Japan. A total of 17 students consisting of 2 third-year students and 15 second-year students took part in the selection interview conducted by Advance Corporation.
During this interview, students were asked to introduce themselves first in Japanese. Subsequently, they received questions about why they wanted to do an internship in Japan and what they wanted to do while in Japan. In addition to these basic questions, students were also asked about their aspirations after graduation and what aspects of Japanese culture they are familiar with.
Not only Japanese language, students were also tested on their English language ability by being asked to introduce themselves in English. Furthermore, they were also asked about their strengths and weaknesses in English.
In preparation for this interview, students first practiced interviews with native Japanese speakers. All students followed the interview preparation procedure with great enthusiasm. They felt that by participating in this internship programme, they would have an extraordinary opportunity to expand their knowledge as Sastra Jepang students in terms of language, culture, and literature.
Throughout the course of the interview, Sastra Jepang students were able to answer questions well and correctly. Their ability to listen to questions and answer them was also very good. Students were even able to share the things that motivated them to do an internship in Japan. Later, students who pass the first stage of the interview will participate in a second stage interview before receiving an internship work contract in the Japanese hospitality sector.
Hopefully all students will gain the best experience and results from this interview.
