Four students from the S1 Sastra Jepang programme departed for Ibaraki University (IU) on March 31, 2024. Their departure to IU is part of implementing a Student Exchange programme for 1 year, from April 2024 to March 2025.
The 4 students are respectively named Dewi Irawati, Kaka Ziva Ardanis, Salsabilla Ariel Putri, Siti Zahira Nur’alimah, all of whom are semester 4 students. The document preparation process began in semester 3 and they finally succeeded in being accepted and approved to depart in semester 4. There they will continue the positive legacy of their senior cohort who completed their exchange student programme at Ibaraki University in the previous year.
The students stated that they are not too worried about their departure to Japan. This is because their senior colleagues who previously went to IU were very welcome in providing information about what needs to be prepared and various matters that need to be anticipated while they are there. Additionally, they also feel reassured because many of their friends are currently undertaking MBKM activities in Japan. They also feel they have somewhat understood the etiquette and work ethic of the Japanese people, having studied this during their coursework. The only thing that makes them worried is about their confidence in using the Japanese language. However, they are confident that as time passes during their stay there, they will definitely be able to implement the Japanese language lessons they have learned so far.

The Exchange Student programme to Ibaraki University is an implementation of cooperation between FIB Unsoed and Ibaraki University. As a commitment to implementing MBKM policy, the S1 Sastra Jepang programme provides facilities in the form of conversion of 40 credits of courses over 2 semesters.
