Purwokerto – Fakultas Ilmu Budaya (FIB) Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed) held a socialization and mentoring workshop event to enhance research activities for FIB Unsoed lecturers and to prepare for the submission of grant proposals from the Directorate of Research, Technology, and Community Service (DRTPM) for 2024. The event, which took place on Tuesday and Wednesday, March 5-6, 2024, was held at Aula Bambang Lelono FIB Unsoed and was attended by FIB lecturers and faculty leadership.
To improve the quality of teaching and research by lecturers, the event featured Prof. Dr. Kundharu Saddhono, M.Hum., C.Ed, CISHR, from Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS), as the main speaker. Prof. Kundharu is an expert in the field of linguistics who has produced extensive research and has broad experience in evaluating research proposals.
During the workshop session, FIB Unsoed lecturers had the opportunity to receive direct feedback from Prof. Kundharu regarding research proposals they had prepared. The speaker provided constructive comments and suggestions to improve the proposals, with the aim of making them stronger and increasing the likelihood of acceptance.
Also present at the event was the Publication Laboratory Team, which also contributed to supporting the improvement of research quality among FIB Unsoed lecturers. Additionally, the Dean of FIB Unsoed, Dr. Ely Triasih Rahayu, S.S., M.Hum., and the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs, Dr. Chusni Hadiati, S.S., M.Hum., provided full support for this activity.
“This event is a concrete step in improving the academic quality of FIB Unsoed lecturers. With input from speakers who are experts in their fields, it is hoped that research proposals from lecturers can become higher quality and more relevant to contemporary needs,” said Dr. Ely Triasih Rahayu.
Beyond providing comments on proposals, Prof. Kundharu also gave tips and tricks to lecturers on how to create good proposals and increase the chances of acceptance. The information and guidance provided by the speaker is expected to serve as a valuable resource for lecturers in moving toward higher quality research.
The DRTPM 2024 workshop is expected to provide significant positive impact in enhancing the quality of teaching and research at FIB Unsoed. Collaboration between lecturers, faculty leadership, and external speakers such as Prof. Kundharu is key to achieving greater academic success in the future.
