Purwokerto 14 May 2025– The spirit of Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) continues to be promoted through various forms of inter-campus collaboration. One concrete manifestation of this program is the faculty exchange activity between Universitas Jenderal Soedirman (Unsoed) and Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto (UMP). On this occasion, Eka Dyah Puspita Sari, S.Pd., M.Hum., a lecturer in the S1 Sastra Inggris Study Programme, Fakultas Ilmu Budaya Unsoed, came as a visiting lecturer at UMP. This activity aims to enrich academic experiences and improve the quality of learning for students.

During the program, Eka Dyah taught the course Academic Writing, a course that equips students with scientific writing skills, essay composition, and academic journal writing conventions. Through interactive and innovative teaching methods, the lecturer from the S1 Sastra Inggris programme strived to provide a deeper learning experience for students at Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto. Academic Writing is a key course in honing students’ abilities in scientific writing.
With an interactive and practice-based learning approach, Eka Dyah created a classroom atmosphere that encourages students to think critically and logically, as well as to express their ideas systematically. She also introduced various effective writing strategies, building essay frameworks, and finding supporting reference sources for essay composition.
“This cross-campus teaching is a valuable opportunity to exchange perspectives and enrich learning experiences. I see that UMP students are very enthusiastic in exploring their writing abilities,” said Eka.
The faculty exchange under the MBKM scheme is not merely about sharing knowledge, but also strengthens cooperation between higher education institutions and provides new insights for students regarding different learning approaches. This program aligns with the MBKM vision of providing opportunities for academics and students to learn in a more flexible and dynamic environment. It is hoped that faculty exchanges like this can continue on an ongoing basis to improve the quality of higher education in Indonesia.
With this collaboration, both Universitas Jenderal Soedirman and Universitas Muhammadiyah Purwokerto benefit in terms of knowledge exchange and academic experience. Students are expected to be increasingly inspired to develop their academic writing abilities for a brighter future. This activity is one concrete example of efforts to improve the quality of higher education through the MBKM program and demonstrates that synergy among higher education institutions can have a positive impact on Indonesia’s academic world.
